It actually seems as though we have been waiting much longer than the timeline at the top of this page. We started our initial homestudy in December 2006. We received our approval from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) back on February 23, 2007. However, our official program application date at Wide Horizons is July 6, 2007. Currently the wait time for a referral of an infant of 0-12 months is approximately 13 months, with travel to Ethiopia 1-3 months after that. While we wait we are trying to learn as much as possible about Ethiopia, transracial adoption and raising adopted children in general.
